I feel like a lot of people think Luffy accepting the Franky Family to help save Franky and other things as Luffy being whimsical, but people don't give him enough credit sometimes. Sure, a lot of what he does is whimsical, but sometimes it's not/ He prolly thought the more help he's got the better chances are to save Robin.
